Riley Jul 12th, 02, 07:27 AM Thanks for the info. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif Dan Trafford Jul 12th, 02, 09:54 AM I thought the splined bushing were only used if the holes in the hinge were oversized. If you already welded the holes and redrilled I do not think you need to use them. Riley Jul 12th, 02, 04:33 PM There was six regular bushings and two splined in the bushing kit for a 68. I think the splines are for the extra pressure the spring and roller put on that bushing. jcdubs Jul 13th, 02, 11:09 AM my kit also came with the six bushings, i didn't use the splined ones, i saw somewhere that the splined ones were used on 69's, also my original bushings were nylon? stope4 Jul 29th, 04, 05:55 PM This is an old post but I have a question regarding this subject. My hinge rebuild kit for a 68 camaro came with 8 bushings, four pins and two splined bushings. Can someone tell me what the two splined bushings are for? stingr69 Jul 30th, 04, 04:36 AM I think they provide the splined bushings for the hinges that need them. I remember buying kits years ago that did not provide them. What a drag if you DID need them. When you pull the hinge apart, you will know if you need them or not. There was probably some difference between years/models that needed it. Just speculation on my part. -Mark. |
