I have allready asked a couple of question in the forms, and have many more as to any new owner, I was courios if anyone has seen the 15inch wheel sticker in a non Z28 car, I am pretty sure the glovebox lid is original, I looked it over very well, and the car being mostly original helps, other options are center console with gauges, 4sp, I put a new shifter boot on the car and the hole in the hump is without a doubt correct, Power front disk brakes dual calipers, Tic toc tack 7grand, low fuel warning light (works) fold down rear seat, power windows, 12 bolt pos, no power steering, production date 11A, does have the 3/8 single fuel line, has a 350 in the car now, but has 302 emblems on the front of the fenders, someone added Z28 emblems also and one on the back? I know it is not a Z28 becouse it has A/C. but the reading I have done really makes me wonder about the cars option, especially the tire sticker, any help or input will be greatly appreciated, Not in the pics but I put the radio in, front bumper and RS emblem in the grill.
Thanks
Lane

Lane,

15" wheels and tires were only available on the Z28, so more than likely the glove box has been replaced at some point. Can you post a picture of the tag?

Sorry, I could not get a clear pic of the sticker, at the top below the chevy symbol is Tire size: E70 x 15-4 ply Rating, absolutlly no tape line or overspray.
also in the pic of the instrument cluster, it seems to be more a silver or natural finish, not blue, is this common or?
Thanks, I really enjoying trying to fiqure things out..

One other 68 got 15" wheels...in late 68 model year, Yenko was special ordering Camaros for his conversion program. He ordered L-78 and COPO9737 "Sports Car Conversion" which included 15" Rallys. They would have had that sticker on them.

I don't think with an 11A build date, that this was one of the conversions, but thought I'd point out the 9737 anyway.

Lane, the govebox tag is a new reproduction. The posi tag on the trunk lid also looks to be a new reproduction, but the jacking instructions are clearly original!!

Like I said over at the CRG, the seller stated he had the original dealer invoice. If you didn't get that in the deal, go back and find out why. Again though, I believe you got a good deal on the car. 17k for a car needing minor work is great.

I will try we did not get along to well, I would have never gave 17k for the car, So it seems that I have a 68RS low hp 327 (that would explain the monoleaf) saginaw 4sp, w/some decent options, would you agree.

Lane,

Well... Probably. It "could" be an L30/M20, but that's going to be very difficult to discern. You should read the CRG article on the L30/M20 (http://www.camaros.org/l30m20.shtml) and see if you can get some clues. Your mono leaf springs kind of rule that out, but since it appears the axle has been replaced, the springs could have been changed as well since a 67 12 bolt used mono leaf springs.

The car was purchased with a "Buy it Now" by gadog10 for 17K. Is this you?

If it is, did you get a better deal after seeing the car? Is it not in as good of condition as the pictures would indicate?

No gaddodog10 is not me, that guy pushed the buy it now and then started to ask Questions that needed to be asked before you push buy it now, like do the headlights work things like that, so he got frustrated with the guy and I had bid on the car and talked with him several times, so he called me and said come get it, The car is as nice as the pics, super solid and straight as a arrow, and everthing worked but the headlights and air,
The reason I was dissapointed was the motor it was in bad shape, it ran but barley, but being a mechanic and a few hundred bucks she runs like a champ, little too much motor, it is a challage on 93, I have it tuned for a happy medium has the power but also has some street manner, I have replace alot of other things aswell shock front end parts, alot of straighting things up if you will, I still have to pull the rearend out needs attention to the axle tubes (cracked) and at that time I am going to take some gear out, Then I may tackle the roof, or may wait? This car was bought as a investment and to drive and enjoy, after the rearend and the roof it will be put aside and drove on nice days as I need to complete a 79 4sp Z28 that is in the middle of being restored, and was started before I bought the car, not to mention the my 68 big block Impala that I have not touched in about 11 years other than some coy wheels, I read a little about the L30/M20 option, I know I dont have the rear papaporsoning (sp?) valve and it seemed like it only came on base camaros, but I will read some more.
Thanks for you help, I have really enjoyed the process, and I love the car, I cant stay out of it..
Thanks to everyone else aswell

I guess I was a little late. I was going to show you what my sticker looks like. Yours was a little too nice to be original. I couldn't read the part number, but I heard the repro numbers were different.

No disrespect, but for future reference how can you tell the difference in the real stickers and the repos?
