I am installing lower quarter patch panels on my 69. The problem I have is the original quarter panels barely have any rust showing but the parts i cut off have some deep pits on the inside around the outer wheel housing.
Looks like GM put some sort of seal there that soaks up water and starts to rust, thats why you see bubbles around the wheel lip on these cars. So it is hard to justify replacing 2 quarter panels on a car that has a few pin holes in the very lower part of the panel, would you recommend finishing out the lower patch panels and then pouring POR-15 in behind the outer wheel lip, or replacing the entire panel or what.
