I have a 68, the other day I was putting on a new shifter boot and I noticed a black light socket coming off some small wire connected to the fuel gauge in the console, so I looked around and could not see were the socket plugged into, there is not bulb in it, it looks like it would take the 194 style bulb, all the lights in the console work, and there is a low fuel light in the speedo, somtimes it works, somtimes it does not,
any idea what this is for?
