I want to remove my front clip on my 69 camaro so i can remove the engine without a chance of scratching the paint. How easy is it to remove the front clip? also i would like to leave the hood on being i work alone and it would be hard to remove by myself. Would this be a problem while removing the engine?

I would not remove the front clip to take out the engine ,, only the hood need's to be removed , as far as help I to am alone and have to work by myself but in a case with the hood a bag of ice and six pack of beer sitting on or near the car will get you a helper in no time :D

Would there be any problems pulling a 454 out without removing the front clip? I plan on removing the engine and trans at the same time and then installing the engine with the T56 installed.

Its pretty easy to remove the front clip.Removing it without scratching the paint is tough,so if thats what your trying to avoid, remove the hood get some fender covers, rags cardboard ect and take your chances pulling the motor.

I did it by myself (except had a friend help lift off the hood) in about 4 or 5 hours and I had never done it before and took my time to label everything that I thought I might later be confused about.
I managed not to scratch up the paint at all. Unfortunately though, a few weeks later while I had the fenders stored someone managed to trip over one and the paint got a bit scratched up... Ah well.

No need to remove the hood(to remove the clip)It helps keep everything sturdy and squared up.

Oh, sorry... I should have been more specific. I removed each panel individually... hood, then front valance and lower gravel pan and grille... then fenders/inner fenders.
