...color to use on the hood latch assembly (that the horns bolt to) on a '69?

Would something like cast-blast be closest, or would I need something lighter?

JM says gray or black phosphate. Cast Blast is more of a natural metal color. Do a search, there were some threads that talked about some chemicals you could get to do phosphating yourself.

I use a paint from Walmart. Its called ColorPlace and I think its a walmart brand but they don't appear to sell it anymore. The color is anodized bronze its a bit darker than cast blast, maybe a dark greyish color, not quite black. Seems to match my hood hinges pretty close which are also supposed to be grey or black phosphate colored. They also make a straight bronze color (21034) which is a bit darker than the anodized bronze color. This is a good color from rear springs. Rustoleum has an anodized bronze paint that is the same color.

Why not phosphate the parts. The chemical concentrate is $20 from Palmetto Enterprises for a lifetime supply. Do a search if interested.

Unreal,

How has your phosphate been holding up? I am considering doing mine.

Thanks
