This is sort of a performance question- at what mph do I stop trusting the factory latch to keep the hood shut? I went 10.7 @ 125 recently- time for pins?

You don't "need" them at that speed but they look cool.

I've seen cars go 160+ with a steel hood and factory latch and a friends got a Harwood glass cowl hood on his camaro and runs 136 mph with the factory latch and no pins .

Have been 142mph with the stock RS latch holding my glasstek fiberglass cowl hood. I have considered pins but dont want to drill the holes! I guess when it fly's open and dents the roof we will know what speed is safe.
