Gentlemen,

Does anyone have a pic of a 69 convertible bottom of trunk pan without the gas tank installed? My trunk supports are different than those shown in Rick's, etc. Need to ensure I have installed correctly. My rationalizing, based upon a lack of pictures, etc. in the restoration guides, was that the support with the gas tank ground wire is on the passenger side. I hope this is correct. Came out great. graemlins/clonk.gif Thanks for any help.

I recently installed my tank in my 69 vert and yes the ground was on the pass side support. I have a picture somewhere, just cant find it now

Thanks Bob. The straps on my convertible have a "bulb" at the end side toward the rear of the car. I didn't think much of it when I removed them to install a new trunk pan. Several months later, I could not remember which side......thought of replacing, but the replacements are different. I am sure these are original.

I'll try and crawl underneath my 69 conv. beastie this evening and take a few picks for you. It's pretty rusty but I think everything is still there. (The tank is out)

Hey Doug,
Maybe you are the one who needs to take pictures before you take it apart. :D
Had a great time Saturday, maybe next time graemlins/beers.gif

Here are the pics I promised you. A couple are a little blurry but the sending unit ground does go to the pass side front of the holddown. They are different than the repros currently being offered. Notice that the drivers side rear is completley gone! Oh well...looks like some more sheetmetal work for me! graemlins/clonk.gif

Doug, he's right. The pictures actually still link to the directory that they're in on your computer.

Thanks Dougrmac!!!! You confirmed that I installed mine correctly. Interesting, you also confirmed that the convertible trunk supports are different. Looks like you have some work to do....Mine was not as rusted, however, the work is the same. Thanks again. graemlins/beers.gif

It's a good thing that I like to work with sheetmetal! If you think that the back is rusty, you should see the rockers that I took off and the cowl!!! graemlins/sad.gif Anyhow, good luck with yours!!!
