I've been wondering about this for a long time...how come I've seen some 69's with a chevy bowtie on the front grill and other's don't get one? Was this just a dealer thing on non-SS, RS and Z cars? graemlins/clonk.gif

All '69s had a grille ornament.

SS, RS and Z/28 each had a model-specific emblem, otherwise a blue Chevy bow-tie was mounted in the center of the grille. Many were quickly removed. Yenko removed them prior to delivery.

Tail pan was the same thing. It got a bowtie unless it was an SS or Z-28.
