If the car is as nice as it looks. An RS car badged as an SS. Big Block, M22 and 12 bolt. I dont think your price is out of line at all.

Just a thought.. why not put it on ebay?? I think a car like yours would do very well on there. The right color and the right options.

Edit: Pat was typing his response the same time as mine. We are on the same page. Put it on ebay and hype it up. I think youll get what your asking.

Neat car. Love a BBC,and also Royal Plum. I do think that the color works against it,though. (I love it, but alot of folks do not). I think alot of folks might mistake it for a Tuxedo Black car, only to be let down when they find its deep purple.

A good muscle car dealer in KY has been trying to sell a matching numbers SBC real RS in the same color for several months now for slightly less. If you search through the ads, you'll find it. I can only guess that might be the issue.

I'd just hold tight. The car has all of the right equipment to sell- BBC, 4 speed, 12 bolt, real RS,and so on....IMHO, just think you need that person who digs Plum.

I also think that the daily news we hear about the economy could be rearing its head as well. Just my 2 cents.

The cowl tag decodes to a tuxedo black, custom black interior, rally sport, manual shift car. Thats where the money is :)

Justin - what's the weather like where you are at right now? My point is winter isn't the best time to sell a car in your price range. You also haven't touched on body and paint condition. I hate to say it but for a cruiser it might be a bit high priced right now with fuel costs what they are today. A guy with only the chunk of money to afford the price of your car in his pocket is going to know he won't be able to afford the gas to drive it. In most the nation (espically your corner of it) driving it isn't going to happen until about mid April so why spend the money now unless it's a steal deal... The market's down on anything that's not mint collector condition or high dollar desirable project right now ontop of everything else.

Another detail I thought about in your ad was the fact that you would be willing to trade for another 1st gen. Makes me want to ask "what's wrong with the one you have?" even thought there may not be... All just food for thought, if it were mine I'd spend the winter going over every inch of the car detailing and touching up anything needing it and making it 100% road worthy. If it's there now take a long nap, then in spring list it and be detailed on every positive aspect of the car. A copo or ZL1 can be sold with a handful of words, a car like yours you need to be as descriptive as possible...

Please don't take anything said as being negative towards your car, I think it looks great, I'm just trying to look at it from a buyers perspective. I know lots of gearheads are going to disagree with me. I also know a lot of gearheads would say a BBC, 4speed, 12 bolt, looking clean outside and clean interior is a dream car. We all want one but for most our practical side is going to stop us short of buying and leave us drooling. I base that on years of club experience where the one guy that brings out his big block on club runs gets lots of attention but by the end of the day the small block folks are wanking over the fuel stops...

And last get back in on your ad and let people know the 2 inquires didn't pan out and the car is still available... Seeing 2 guys jumping on it on day one and day two may be giving the impressing it's sold...

Wow, thank you all for your GREAT responses, I really didn't expect such quick returns. A LOT of great points were made and I appreciate all of them. I do need to spice up the ad (with more description) and be mroe patient.

Hopefully around spring time more interest will come about.

I'm not desperate to get rid of the car; well im not desperate yet and thats why I haven't "ebayed' it yet. And word (from my brothers) tells me my father may want it:D but told me to wait 4 months for an answer! (must be waiting to cash in some stocks)

Thanks again guys:thumbsup:

I love Royal Plum, it looks black, no wait it looks dark purple no wait, lol. 67 RS, BBC, 4 speed, 12 bolt and originally Tuxedo Black, what more could you ask for? I think the current state of the economy is why you haven't sold it yet. I've been looking for the right 67 to sit next to my 69, hopefully in the next couple of months I'll be ready to buy, depends on what my tax liability looks like this year.
