I'm about to have the paint and body work started on my '69 Camaro (coupe). The car is a pre-x code RS LM1 car with the following options:

350 w/ 4bbl Q-jet
PowerGlide trans
12 bolt posi w/ 3.08 gears
Power windows
Remote mirror
A/C
Vigilite (U46) system
AM/FM radio
Console gauge package
Speed-minder speedometer
Rear defrost
Folding rear seat
Deluxe houndstooth
Power drum brakes (changing to front discs)
Rosewood dash

The paint code is Garnet Red with a white vinyl top and white deluxe interior. The car will be repainted red, but I'm changing the interior to black deluxe and getting rid of the white top. The guy that is doing the paint and body work recently finished a '58 Corvette that sold at the '08 B-J auction for $220,000, so I'm sure that the paint will come out very nice. All the rust has been repaired, and everything will look factory fresh.

The motor and trans are original, but I'm putting in a date-coded 396 and TH-400 trans with the factory big block A/C suitcase and everything that goes with it.

What can expect to get for the car given today's market?

Thanks,
Brian

Mid 20's to low 30's in today's market. Maybe more with some of the extra options like power windows and fold down custom interior.

I have the sister to this car, LM1, TH350, Hugger Orange, Power Windows, Gauges, Black Houndstooth, Fold Down rear! Even the same Gear ratio!

Looks like Joe just got out-bid by Bisquit, but it obviously depends on the type beer he is offering. Dos XX's Amber by the way (in a frozen, salted mug with 3 lime wedges...mmmm).

Thanks for the repsonse Rich. I kinda figured you would chime in since you are the de-facto LM1 expert.

I was thinking about doing a semi-PT treatment to the car (mini tub, wheels/tires, and 4-wheel disc brakes), but I'm kinda on the fence at this point. The car has some neat / rare options, but since the car isn't an SS or Z, changing a few things on the car shouldn't turn many people off. However, I don't want to hurt the potential saleability of the car by making mods that aren't easily corrected back to stock (mainly the mini tub). I feel like I'm already stretching it by changing the white interior to black and removing the white vinyl top, but I just prefer the red and black look.

This car has been a labor of love (or at the least, a project that keeps me out the bars), and every nut, bolt, and washer has been / will be replaced. The suspension has been upgraded and the subframe and all of the suspension pieces have been powder-coated. When its finished, the car will be basically be 'brand new'. I was hoping that the car would bring 40-45K when finished this Fall, but that may not be realistic with the market being a little soft. Although with anything that you sell, its just a matter of finding the right buyer at the right time who has to have it.

From what I've seen the LM1's are gaining in popularity and I think it's value would be in it's originality. Everybody wants a BB car but in this instance I would think it would be worth more as an original LM1 car atleast to a Camaro enthusiest.

Ya know what I don't understand? The entire 'What's it worth?' forum.
Why build these cars just to sell them? Where's the love?
Don't flame me, I just don't get it.
But, then too, I'm old-school. I come from a time when people asked "What'll it do?", not how much is it worth.:o
