i bought this car on ebay in novemebr of 2007...sight unseen....only 20-30 pics and a mans word..he did own it for 20 years and i ran the plates and it matched him and his address...still a risk .....anyway, i am very happy withthe car both inside and out....i paid 23K for it.....most of the car is original including the 327 drivetrain(275hp)..even if i overpaid, it is waht i have always wanted...but i was just curious with all of this Ebay talk here

$23K for an original 67 RS vert in solid shape, nothing major missing or incorrect, with it's original 327/275? That was a good deal then, and it's a good deal still, even with prices dropping. The ragtops are harder to find, and consistently bring $5K to $10K more than an equivalent coupe.

As a polite, constructive criticism, it needs more tire in the back :)

That is a solid buy for 23K. Nice car!

If you would have found a builder you would have had a lot more in it.

Car looks like a very nicely done driver
Looks like it is in good shape and has a good drivetrain for cruising and enjoying.
And I would bet it is more fun and might get better mileage than the Hummer ;)

Even if you 'did' overpay - and in JMHO's you didn't  - you got what you wanted for a price you and the seller agreed on, that's what 'eBain' and the other web-sell sites are supposed to be about
Unfortunately all to often someone guilds a lily and dumps it on a site and someone gets taken - like Mr. Gump said, 'it happens' ...

The purist, of which I am often guilty of being, would point out some things that are 'not-quite' a '67 thing it has been equiped with. But, that does not detract from this car and I would put it's value solidly in the range you paid.

If you haven't already (I didn't search) please go to the "Tag Team" forum and post the Cowl Tag information so it can be recorded.

Nice to hear of a good find on here :beers:

Nice buy on that car. I've just not seen this drastic drop in prices everbody has been lamenting about over the past few months. A few minutes ago a buddy of mine dropped in to tell me he just sold his 69 X44 with no motor, tranny or interior for 9K cash money. Can someone give me a couple good examples of what we are talking about with this supposed market drop? Not ebay "no sales" or "I've heard stories" but instead "real money" transactions on something other than a NOM rolling project with a salvage title. The only trend I've noticed is a market with fewer buyers and a supply end with fewer quality finished cars. On the restoration end good used and NOS parts have been setting record prices. Some pieces have gone higher than what I was buying an entire project car for five years ago. All my body shop buddies who are even willing to accept a classic car to shoot paint on are to the point of almost asking the customer for references and cash up front because the waiting list for their services is so backed up. If any of you are considering dumping your matching #'s RS/SS or convertible Camaros for 25% less than it was worth last year send me a PM :)

Doesn't matter what you paid. Drive it like you stole it.

You only over-paid, if YOU think you over-paid...... if that makes any sense.
Drive it, enjoy it, and forget it.

It has been said 100's of times and I'm sure will be said 100's times more ... I a car is only worth what a buyer is willing to spend for it. Sounds like you a happy with the car, so there fore it was a good buy. Now enjoy it and have fun with it.

P.S. Nice ride.

Take it from someone who DID overpay for his first gen..you did not overpay. Nice car. It looks to me like you got a good deal. I paid almost 23k for my 67 RS back in 2004 and its not a vert..nor did it have its original engine. Granted, i bought mine when prices were climbing like crazy but i figure i overpaid by 3 grand back then. Either way..i dont care now and its worth every penny when i get in and drive it. Enjoy!!

You paid way to much. If it will make you feel any better, I'll give you what you paid for it. That way you get your money back and I get a 67 RS Vert for a steal.

Well, I've not had any PM's on the offer I made to those who want to bail out of their car at the 25% devaluation figure the "market analysts" have been spewing. Lets see, if this car was bought in 07 for 23K then it's worth only $17,250 this year. Of course the "experts" (those who are looking and lurking for bargains) have been saying 08 will see another 20% "market drop" so that makes it $13,800 ;) A couple more years and we'll have to pay the buyers to take em off our hands! I sure wish someone had some solid sale examples to back this hooey up LOL.

You don't need to pay me but if you'd trailer it to the house that would be great, thanks. lol
