So here we go...
I got a deal I couldn't walk away from so I purchased a car that should have been a donor but will now be my first muscle car. As you can see in the pics, it was in rough shape to start. It was in at least one accident in it's life that did a number on the driver side and entire rear end. It was a 6cyl 2speed to start life, but hopefully won't finish it that way.
This was supposed to be a long term project that my brother-in-law and I would work on in our freetime and as I could save up funds. Then after a dicussion with my boss (I'm the sales manager for a crankshaft manufacturer) we decided it should be completed sooner and used for marketing purposes both in print and at the larger trade shows. So this started my venture in talking to other companies that may be interesed in helping with the project. Fortunatly I was able to work with a few companies and now the project should be done this summer. I will try and post more pics as we get more accomplished.
A side note for those looking for a builder...avoid collision shops that also do car restorations when winter is approaching. My car was going to be done by a shop in Indiana, but the 10-12 week project hadn't been started on week 11, so I pulled it back to my brother-in-laws right before christmas and got alot done in a short amount of time.
When all is said and done, the car should have:
-All new sheet metal (only the roof and passenger door are staying),
-New suspension and 2" drop
-18" wheels and a modified DSE tub kit in back (I'm not cutting the frame)
-Crate 383 SB, 420HP, 460ft/lbs by High-Tech Engine Components
-Moser 12 bolt rear end
-5 speed transmission
-all new interior
To help with sponsors and also my advertising material, we had a rendering done of the car by Chris Brown of Barry's Speed Shop (TLC's Wrecks to Riches)
Let me know what you think!
