During my senior year of high school I worked in a Gulf Station on weekends. My boss who owned the station was 10 years older then me and had just bought a new 1969 Z/28 in November of 1968 with a lot of options including a 4.10 rear and M22 trans. I started bugging him then to let me take the car to my prom in June of 1969. By the time June rolled around he had relented and let me have the car. I never abused his trust or put a scratch on it. A couple of months ago I bought a 1969 RS/z28 with all original drivetrain and docs and a 4.10 rear and M22 trans. I just got it out for the first time since I bought it. HOW SWEET IT IS! The smell of the CAMII, the sound and the the way I remember it running in the day came flooding back. I don't think I will ever sell this one. I hope everyone looking for that special Camaro finds what I did.:D:thumbsup:

Nice story. Maybe you should look up your old boss and ask him if he wants to take her for a spin....

Great idea! he is not far away although I haven't seen him in about 30 years. He was areal motor head, We built a Austin Healy bug eye sprite that he ran in H production, and was quite successful.

Cool story! I'm from PA as well, and when I was a kid, my neighbors boyfriend had a brand new 69 Z-28 (black w/ white stripes) with all the extras. It was the coolest car I had ever seen and I'll never forget the sound of it when he started it up, even from a block away. I always looked forward to him showing up and thought someday I would have one just like it. I remember that car like it was yesterday, and 30 some years later I'm finally getting around to building one similar to that one.
