Hi!! My name is Jacquie. I am trying to help a young freind of mine named Kyle. He has found an abanoned Z28 with no motor that he has fallen in love with. We found the vin. We're trying to find out if it's stolen or if we might be able to salvage. We are both novices. We have no idea where to start. We're hoping to find some help here. thnx jacquie n kyle

Call the DMV with the VIN and they will tell you stolen or not. Then contact the owner of the property and find out if he knows the owner, if not put it on a trailer and file for a lost title in the state of texas or wherever...good luck!

You can also post the VIN number in our tag section along with any other numbers off the firewall under the heater box, numbers under the cowl vent on the passenger side below the wiper. Is there a tranny in the car? If so, numbers are on it and on the axle tube as well.
They all mean something and the VIN 'might' be of record with members here and also CRG (www.camaros.org) has a section for trying to reconnect old engines with their original cars.

HA.. I was drinking coke and some almost came out of my Nose...!!!! I've had so many problems with the DMV here in TEXAS.. I love this state but they are tough on Titles.

I've had Titles in hand and im missing a "Dotted i" .. or the "T" is not crossed .... of course IM over exsagerating but you know what I mean.... Even with titles its hard to get a title in your name...........Even a Bill a sale wont help you .

You are right about Texas. My buddy has a MG that was given to him. No title. He went to the DMV and tried to get a title. The car is taken apart and the body is off the frame. They wanted a picture of the car complete before they would even try to issue a title. He told them it was all apart. They said put it back together.

I like Tehjas also, but sometimes...they just get on my nerves.
