View Full Version : 69 RS emblem question
Bucco47 Feb 2nd, 08, 07:56 PM Just got back from a cruise-in (Dade City, FL) where a 69 Camaro RS owner told me there are 2 different styles of "Rally Sport" emblems for the fenders: "rally sport" with all lower case denotes a small block and "Rally Sport" with capital 'R' and 'S' denotes big block.
Please reassure me that this is a load of crap.
Thank you

Uh, Yes, yes it is !..a load, that is.
RamAirDave Feb 2nd, 08, 08:04 PM "Rally Sport" with capital 'R' and 'S' denotes big block.
Hmmm.... and where exactly would you find emblems like that
Bucco47 Feb 2nd, 08, 08:09 PM Thank you. I can rest easy tonight without nightmares of a lower case "z-28" with a 6 cylinder and a capital "Z-28" with an 8.
angelglo Feb 2nd, 08, 08:19 PM if it was a rs with a big block, then it would be a SS. then he might be right in regards to the capital letters because, if im not mistaken, the emblems on a SS looks to be in upper case. but then again, i can be wrong and they can very well be lower case. oh, if you didnt know, RS/SS's didnt come with RS emblems. just SS emblems
Fred Ficarra Feb 3rd, 08, 11:41 AM Yeah, and I didn't get a price break. They should have sent the RS emblems in the trunk!

Don't worry, the 6 cylinder version was a Z26.
 Ok, that wasn't funny....
bikesnbroadheads Feb 5th, 08, 03:31 PM while you are on the rs emblem subject can someone tell me what the correct emblem would be on the steering shroud of an RS SS car? i have been looking at the RS SS cars and it looks like half of them have SS and half have RS emblems on the shrouds?
click Feb 5th, 08, 03:56 PM If the car was SS from the factory there are NO RS marks on it anywhere. If the horn is RS then it might not be an SS to start with. Alot of name switching goes on today as it did back then.
SS will always supercede when the car is both SS/RS.
bikesnbroadheads Feb 5th, 08, 04:25 PM thanks jim i did not know that. i would have guessed an RS emblem was correct on the horn shroud. your right alot of parts swapping going on!
guccieng Feb 5th, 08, 06:30 PM if this guy owns a 69 rs, why isn't he on this forum gettin' edjumakated?
Bucco47 Feb 5th, 08, 08:08 PM Hey John,
Where did you get those wheels? I saw ones like that at the NSRA Nationals last year in the vendor area but forgot the dealer/vendor name.

Yep. And along similar lines, RS horn emblem and rallysport fender emblem supercede the bowtie horn and "Camaro" fender emblems on a RS Z
