I'm finally getting the NOS bumper bolted onto my 68 and I have the full bolt kit and the 68 only outer bumper spacers. Does anyone have a diagram of which way they actually bolt on? It looks like I might still be missing something because it doesn't look right either way.

I don't have a diagram, but if you have an assy manual it should show in there. One suggestion do you have the 68 only outside brackets? They have a very large hole for the cushions to go through. The 67 brackets, I believe have a much smaller hole, and will not work with the cushions. I hope this helps.

Yes, I have the 68 only brackets, but the bushings can go either way and the bolt that goes through has nothing for the nut to hold against since the opening in the bushing is so big. Am I missing a washer or something?

There is a washer, which is about 1" across, also the nut that holds all this together has its own washer as part of it. I checked my two 68's and both have the same setup so there is a pretty good chance this is correct. The assy manual calls for washer 128144, which is a hardware store item, and the nut assy is 9425691 which is the same nut used on front and rear bumper bolts. Hope this help, too bad I don't have a scanner. For someone that does this is shown on UPC 14. which is page 178 in my 68 Assy Instruction Manual
