Not having a horse in the race, I thought I'd be bored, but that was a good game! I thought the entire Giants defense should have got the MVP. Congrats to Giant fans. Look out for the Rams next year.

I've been saying it to everyone I know - pressure Brady and you have a shot. Can't get into a sling match with him - keep the score low.

Yep, I said I'd watch it if I was bored....so I did :). My folks would hate me, but I picked the Giants just because they were under dogs. All things unequal, anything can happen in any sport.

Imho, Manning didn't have it together until the late 3rd and 4th qtrs. But man, that break away from being sacked...and then the pass to Tyree (sp)...that was inspiring!

I honestly thought Brady was the most in command, but the Giant's defense was hot tonight, and the Pats couldn't capitalize on steady gains.

Indeed, a great game

Congrats to you Giants fans!

Pissed at myself. My Dad who is aging and Ill lives in Fla. He is s huge Giants fan. I was supposed to go down there and spend the weekend with him. I let work (supporting some sales folks offshore) get in the way.

Just another Regret to add to a long list ..

Beating a team like the Patriots was no easy task , what a huge effort by the Giants.

A big CONGRATS to the Giants fans. That was a game well played. Probably the best Super Bowl in the last 20 years. Nobody gave the Giants a chance and they pulled it off. I was rooting for them like a life long Giant fan. My neighbor who is a life long Giant fan had everyone over for a party. It was great and I won $650 in pools as well, doesn't get much better than that. Is this the first time brothers have won a Super Bowl? How about back to back? Hopefully they will meet there next year Colts vs Giants.

Not going to complain

Great effort by the Giants, especially on D. The Pats aren't a dominating team, they are just a real solid team that wears you down. That's why so many bad teams hung around and played them even until late in the game when the Pats would pull ahead. It was only a matter of time before someone outplayed them for 4 quarters. Now maybe the ridiculous talk about being the greatest team of all time can stop. There is a difference between a team with a good record and a team that totally dominates it's competition. The Pats are the first of those two categories, not the second. It's the second one I'd look for when selecting the greatest team of all time. To the Pats credit though it was the media who laid that label on them, not the team. They are still a great team. But todays media is so spring loaded to wanting to belief that we are living through experiences that have never occured before that they put labels on performances and teams that no one can live up to.

Belecheat really showed his true colors with :01 left in the game! What a joke - him leaving the field and not giving the respect to let the Champs finish the game...and this is all coming from a Redskins fan!

I am a diehard Eagles fan. I never would have thought this would have happened, but I actually smiled at the end of the game. To me, the Pats losing this game is almost as bad as the Bills losing 4 consecutive Super Bowls.

The Pats were just plain out played. The Giants defense was awesome. Yes I would have liked to see the Pats go 19-0, but it wasn't meant to be. They had a great season and 18-0 is nothing to sneeze at. A wildcard team takes it all...Congrats to the Giants and their fans, they played a great game. If Bellechick had only worn his usual crappy gray sweatshirt, we may have had a chance....

I didn't have a horse in the race, but I was pulling for New England. There were a few interesting calls (missed offensive pass interference call on Toomer, fumble recovery by New England then ball given back to Giants), and I thought the clock ran in an inconsistent manner from 1:35 to 0:49 in the 4th quarter.

In any event the Giants outplayed the Patriots and deserve to be Super Bowl champs -- congrats to all the Giants fans

(by the way, I had 4 and 0 in one of my football pools and when the Giants scored with 0:35, it cost me a few hundred bucks  -- oh well --- :beers::beers::beers: )

Come on Doug, The clock didn't even start for one of the Patriots plays. In any case the "real" time is kept on the field and is corrected as needed.

The Giants plain and simple beat the Patriots. The Giants defense set the tone. There are missed calls in every game but, I felt this game was called extremely well. Give credit where it's due. The Giants deserve to be the Champs.

Royce -- no complaints on the officiating, just observations. As I said in my earlier post, the Giants outplayed the Pats and deserved to win

Doug, Good deal. You're right the clock on the screen was acting strange. Not starting at times and then running off what appeared to be extra time to catch up.

The Giants should have picked off Brady on 3 occasions where he underthrew Moss badly, in double coverage. The Giants db's didn't look back, and they easily could have been intersepted. New England was lucky the game was as close as it was.

Oh no, it wasnt that Bad!! Congrats Giants fans. Great game. So glad to see the Pats lose. I had listened to one of the interviews earlier in the week where Brady was responding to Plexico Burress's comment that the Giants would win 21-17. Brady got all smiles and cocky and said something like... "Oh wow, we are only going to score 17 points eh? And then laughed. Ha..nope..your only going to score 14.

Now what am I supposed to do with this box of T-shirts that say "19-0, the Giants blow"?

It was a good game and as much as it pains me to admit it, the Pats were out played and out coached plain and simple. Eli was the better quarterback and the Giants were the better team.

Eli came of age in the last game of the season. The Patriots had nothing to gain in that game except a perfect record, and they played the starters the whole game. Eli stepped up to the challenge and played maybe the best game of his career. I think that's what gave him the confidence to finally step out of Peyton's shadow and become a real professional quarterback. Kudo's to him.

Im not a Giants fan but i have to say i was happy! They won me 155 bucks! :hurray:
And im sure the 72 Dolphins are were happy! :D

Here is an interesting thing i found today on http://www.72dolphins.com/
"The Bears in 1934, went 13-0 during the regular season, only to lose 30-13 in the Championship Game to the Giants"

So i guess the Giants had history on there side. They like messing up the perfect seasons!

That was great game, I agree the NY defense should get the MVP. I always thought if you could sack Brady a few times that he would break under the pressure, and he did and how about #83 of NE. Wes Welker, he's what 5'9" 185 lbs. he would be my MVP for the losing team hands down.

The Giants played the type of game they needed to play to have a chance to win but......just maybe......when your quarterback barely escapes being sacked - lets one fly down field 40+ yards in the air that seems like it's up there forever - to maybe the 3rd look receiver - who goes up in a crowd and fights for the ball that he can't get his hands on - pins the ball to his helmet - comes down and ends up making the catch - if your the other team you maybe thinking there is a 12th man on the field? A short time later the scoreboard reads you're now down by 3. Maybe there's a under lying message? Maybe there's something to be said about following the rules? Maybe humility is better than arrogance? Call it what you will - bad karma - bad luck - poetic justice - devine intervention - none of the afore mentioned - ultimately was justice served? I don't know I don't have any inside information. I will say while the odds were against the Giants - however they did it - they not the Patriots are the Champions. Congradulations to the Giants for a hard fought win!
