I just got back from the paint shop my 69 camaro that i tore apart nearly 10 years ago. Everything was stripped out of the car. I have never put one back together and after reading some of the post on here, I can tell some of you know alot about these cars. I pretty much know where the pieces go, but is there a book or any other info that would tell me in what order to put things back together so that I don't have to backtrack. Any sugggestions??
Thanks for any help.

Well...the motor goes in the front, the seats go in the middle, and the spare goes in the rear :D
Just kiddin.....yeah...get an AIM (Assembly Manual) and ask questions here when the AIM isn't clear enough.
Have Fun !

blessedfind,
I'll bet if we (Team Camaro members) knew your name and/or location from your profile someone that lives nearby would offer to come help you out! I know if you lived near me I'd offer because I love putting them together almost as much as taking them apart!
Do you live in northern Virginia? If so I can help you.

Best advice would be to contact "Belair Bob", a sponsor of Team Camaro, and order the set of instruction/factory assembly manuals. They run about $65-$70 but are priceless for restoring Camaros. Good luck!

Assembling a car is difficult. Doing it without backtracking is almost impossible. It’s just part of doing it.
I’m in the middle of putting mine together and everything takes 4-times longer than it should. My suggestion is to research everything before you do it. Search here and read a bunch of posts—especially before you buy parts. For example, my weather stripping is too stiff and the doors don’t close right. I should have bought them from a different vendor. And, I bought a Hurst shifter and I didn’t buy all the parts. And, I bought a new z-bar assembly and it was for 68-69, not a ’67. And . . . the list goes on and on.

Be prepared to do and re-do. Hopefully you can still have fun with it.

Thanks guys for the advice. I will definitely be asking alot of questions. I have owned this car for going on 30 years. It was the first car I ever had. My father and I bought it for $1700 and did not have a clue what I had bought until later on in life. He passed away five years after he helped me purchase the car, so this one is a little sentimental. It is midnight green with custom weave interior x-11, rosewood dash ac etc. I will try and update my profile soon and I live near Charlotte, NC.

The one thing that I can tell you is ... Re-assembly goes together much easier (and cleaner) the de-assembly. Get the manuals and take it one section at a time. This site is a great resource.
Good Luck :beers:
