DOUG G Feb 5th, 08, 05:27 PM  too much seat time for me, lol
dnult Feb 6th, 08, 07:34 AM My wifes uncle took a job delivering 5th wheel camper trailers all over the U.S. a few years ago. All they did was drive from one place to another. They ate out of a cooler for most of their meals and peed in a can between stops. Seems like he said they put 95,000 miles on in one year. I can't imagine what it would take to hit 1,000,000. Not my cup of pee...err tea.
jr68 Feb 6th, 08, 08:27 AM This is a testiment to the superiority of the Chevy small block.
With the proper routine maintenance they can run forever.
" Like a rock " . . . . . . sorry tundra
clwilcox33 Feb 6th, 08, 09:55 AM And Penzoil is giving him free oil changes for his "next one million miles". My '90 Silverado has 276,000 on it, and only had a distributer replaced so far. I also replaced the clutch for the first time a couple months ago and brakes and had the radiator tanks replaced. Other than that it's been golden.
69isfine Feb 6th, 08, 10:01 AM My 1999 Silverado has 176,000 miles on it, still on original brakes, and has pad left. Never seen anything like it.
67pat Feb 6th, 08, 02:51 PM 97 Chevy 1500 work truck driven by 20-30 year olds every day....320K regular oil changes never had one major problem...but dont you guys or consumer reports know????? The new Japanese trucks have revolutionized the whole industry in the 3 or 4 years they have been in the full size game? you mean you didnt know that?
Granny's 69 Feb 6th, 08, 03:41 PM had a co-worker who rolled 500K on his F*rd Ranger pickup. He decided to call the Ford customer relations hotline to brag a little on his truck. The lady at Ford transferred him to the customer complaint hotline! ..... LOL
thorpe67RS Feb 6th, 08, 04:55 PM That is incredible. We'll be seeing that guy in a commercial at some point. I have a 2000 Dodge 2500 that i only drive for times when i "need a truck" Just sits most of the time. It only has 30,000 miles on it and acts like it has 3,000,000. Next time i'd buy a Chevy or Ford.
angelglo Feb 6th, 08, 05:14 PM wow, thats great. i dont think ive driven 1 mil miles since i started driving almost 25 years ago. good for penziol for flipping the bill for the next mil miles. im sure they will be getting alot of advertisement from this thing.
zuma Feb 6th, 08, 05:45 PM I picked up my 04 Z71 in June with 23k, it now has 41k on it (only 7 months) no issues... I'll let you guys know in 10 or so years how it is running...:) Yep had a dodge, never again...Chevy trucks rule!

He didn't have much luck with them.
I'm surprised that the body didn't rust off the frame, considering all the salt they put down during the winter.
Larger Dave Feb 9th, 08, 10:19 AM I have over 370,000 miles on my Silverado 1987 K20 Suburban, but it has been through three motors (currently a 502) , two transmission rebuilds and a front end rebuild, and three different captain’s chair front driver’s seat, and two new front carpets. But it has been in every state in the union (except Hawaii), and 80% of Canada (not many roads North of the Arctic circle). All of this while towing a 4,700 pound camper trailer.
Because it is a 4x4 I have also had fun with it in the White Sands proving grounds, Moab Utah crawling over rocks, got stuck once in the black powdered sands off the Oregon coast, crawled up every logging trail I could find in the Alleghenies, Appalachian’s (Blue Ridge, Catskill, Cumberland, Great Smoky Mountains, Green Mountains, White Mountains, Longfellow Mountains), Cascade Range (Okanogan Range, Columbia Plateau), Guadalupe Mountains, Rocky Mountains (Bighorn, Boulder, Bridger, Cariboo, Columbia, Elkhorn, Granite Mountains, Gros Ventre Range, Franklin , Kootenay, La Salle, Laramie, Lemhi, Livingston, MacDonald Range, Manzano, Monashee , Mosquito, Salmon River, Sacramento, San Juan, Sawatch, Sawtooth, Snowy Range, Teton Range, Tobacco Root, Uinta, Wasatch Range, Wind River Range, Whitefish Range, Wolf Mountains, Wyoming Range) all looking for scenic photographs.
PS I live in the flat lands of Florida and just love mountains because the flat landscape around here is so boring. :boring:

ScottB Feb 9th, 08, 01:24 PM No timing chain in 1 million miles?
jr68 Feb 9th, 08, 06:31 PM No timing chain in 1 million miles?
maybe its the Penzoil
68RS-SS Feb 9th, 08, 10:45 PM I have a 95 Z71 Silverado and it's just awesome. Poor thing just get's oil changes while my Camaro gets all the attention. However, that truck always gets me where I need to go and still rides incredibly nice at 175,000 miles. Paint looks new too. One tear in an armrest is all that looks worn. I see all these people spending $40k on new trucks and think that's so unnecessary. You could be spending that money on muscle cars instead which are far cooler than trucks. Anyway, I love this kinda old truck and will probably throw in a crate motor some day when the engine dies. Best of all, its paid for.
