Does anyone know anything about the 69 Hugger Orange RS Z/28 with Cross Ram and JL8 that has been recently listed on www. carsonline.com?

Just spoke to the seller. He has a POP, but no other docs.. The xtam set up is correct and he says it is the correct JL8 rear and the dates and codes match. Sounds great but without dealer paperwork........

This car was on Ebay a couple of times. The POP shows the BY or BV rear code which is not a JL8 code. It has the JL8 rear added to the car.

I was not able to read the POP otherwise I would have seen the code. The seller admits that he has no paperwork.

I was told sometime back by one of the senior members here that a non factory original JL8 was not worth as much as a factory documented JL8. That adding the setup to the car merely increased the value of the car by the hard cost of the setup itself. For that matter, a Wildwood setup would probably be a better setup from a braking efficiency standpoint, no?

Depends on which components you went with in the aftermarket kit. The factory JL8 had full size rotors front and rear. They are bigger(11-3/4") than the standard factory 1969 front disc rotors(11") so adding the Wildwood rear setup still wouldn't give you as much overall stopping as the JL8. I had one of those Ebay rear conversion kits on a 68 Camaro and it used the standard front rotors on the rear and with a Corvette 4 wheel disc brake master cylinder, that car had some crazy stopping power for a heck of a lot less than a Wilwood or SSBC setup. It really depends on what your goal is with the car. If you can piece together enough of the JL8 parts inexpensively then it makes a great package that's hard to beat.
