Thanks for all your help on the silver 69.

Here's another one I'm looking at.
http://www.stlouiscarmuseum.com/stlcarmuseumtemplate.asp?id=498

This one is a Yenko clone. Has a 454 in it...but doesn't sound like it's really built up. 4 speed trans, houndstooth interior and other good looking options. Doesn't have a/c, so I'd have to spend about 2500 to get that installed.

After talking to them, looks like they want my Cobra +7500. It would be a long drive to trade cars. I know I could ship, but that would add about 2500-3000 to ship 2 cars.

I'm really starting to think that I should get my Cobra listed online or try eBay to focus on selling it outright. Doing a trade in to a dealer really seems like I'm not going to get even close to a fair deal on my car.

I know they need to make money, but if we were talking about my car and a few grand, that's one thing...but my car & 10k-12k (after putting in a/c & shipping) is a tough one to swallow. Especially on a non-numbers matching car.

What do you guys think?

seems like a lot for the body not being that great as far as gaps.. The door to front fender is huge in the center, and looking from the back to front view, doesnt seem like the trunk is closed all the way on the drivers side?

550 for 84 months after almost 5K down? how much is this car 50k? sure you can find a better clone with a better built engine for less then that? I mean its just a paint job and decals right?

and the passangers side decal is off from the door to qtr.. the gaps look good though.. the paint looks nice alot of shininh was done and the passangers trunk is way off!

also looks like some holes in the floor boards... unless its just pinholes in the undercoating,

Says Correct decals as well... check the Caution Fan Sticker! me dun like!

The car looks to have a bunch of spot paint work done.... Left door to 1/4 color, Lt & Rt1/4 to tail pan color, part of the rt fender, stripe miss-alignment on rt door to 1/4 and as mentioned already terrible panel alignment. I would have a bodyman check the car out.

Dan,
Sorry to be so blunt, but if was looking at that Camaro I would run as fast as I could away from it. That thing looks thrown together. I mean the rear license plate is crooked! The gaps are all bad. Engine and compartment look so so. The interior has hounstooth seat covers with a standard interior. That's a big no no! Wheels don't look right for a Yenko and the yellow paint looks like wrong shade of yellow and doesn't looked to be sprayed too good either.
But hey I'm picky. Have you ever looked at http://www.goldenclassics.com
They are located in Florida. They have some nice '69 Camaros from time to time. I would try putting your car on the market. All dealers want to make $10,000 on your trade maybe even more. You are always going to come up short on a trade unless you under paid when you bought it. I will keep my eyes open and shot you an e-mail if I see anything that looks decent.
Don't make any quick decisions that will haunt you later.

it's not even close to being a Yenko clone.
its just a Camaro with Yenko stripes and emblems slapped on it.

The car also sits dispropotionatly low in the front as compared to the back, which leads me to believe the front springs may not have been changed to conpensate for the added weight of a BB

One quick glance at the way the rear bumper is hung is all I would need to make a decision on that car.

You guys have a great eye for the details...I really need to spend more time researching these cars and try to learn about what I should be looking for.

Are there any "what to look for sections" here on the forum or anywhere else you know of that I should be looking at?

Even if the workmanship were perfect, there's too much variance from a Yenko to call it a clone, in my opinion. Lots of the variations are expensive fixes, too. Engine, radiator interior, location of 427 badge on hood....I could go on.

I think calling a hamburger a "filet mignon clone" is less of a stretch.
