Yes, on my 68. Not much to see in a picture as the car is all back togther. Dont know if I would do it again because once the car is toghter you cant see it. I have a BB engine, power brakes, MSD box, Etc. fire wall gets very clutterd very quickly.

Nice!!!!

Where are the hoses? Are they hiding under the fender?

One more question.... Do I weld the firewall to the cowl then use bondo to fill in the line or do I weld it fully then grind it?

We bring the hoses in through the old blower motor location. After plating it in, we use some grommets we supply, run the hoses through the cowl, over the side kick panel (some trimming required, and into the unit. I kind of hate the bulkhead because of the precise little lines you have to make on the interior side and also the possibility of leaks with 8 connections instead of 4 connections. And it is $130 cheaper then a bulkhead and bulkhead fitting kit. So I try to avoid it when I can.

Here is a picture of the hose grommets on our Project EmptyNest Firebird (same way we did Project Prodigy pictured above), and a shot of the engine after assembly. The lines are invisible at the firewall.

To answer your firewall question. Both cars here are not a reference for how most smooth firewalls are done. Both of these firewalls are entirely fabricated from sctratch, instead of filling the one side only which is much more time and cost effective.

Yes, the best way to smooth your firewall is to use 16 gauge to fill the heater core / blower motor hole. Then butt weld in the filler, weld the seam with 1" stitch welds jumping around so as not to heat and warp the firewall, then fill the seam with All metal filler or SEM Carbo Fill (if your wallet can stand the Carbo Fill)

Frank, where do you run your condensate drain?

Through the floor pan at the tunnel so it drips in the middle away from the tires. I hate driving through the water.

Frank, where do you run your condensate drain?

I asked this question with no response. I ran mine through the body mount void

What fastener kit are you using to screw in the sheetmetal parts? Looks like chrome allen bolts?
