I was wondering what is the biggest width of rim and what size offset would work with my 67 camaro? The rims are 17"

I want to use the torq thrust M rims and wondering if I could put a wider rim in the back. And if they even make one I dont think 8" is enough.

Also does anyone have pics of 20" rims on a 67ish camaro. The guy say the torq thrust 20"x8" rims will fit. I was wondering if that looks good at all.

lmao... we do that stuff here, tho I don't recall any 20"s. Check user "Eville" he has some pretty fat 18's on his.

A 275 is pretty tight on a 67-68. Ideally, that tire should be on a 9 or 9 1/2" rim, and the backspace needs to be perfect. 5 1/2" BS should do it for a 9 1/2" rim, 4 1/2" for an 8". Call that a starting point. Measure carefully. All these cars are a lil different, and when you're gonna push the envelope, you gotta measure in real time.

I Tried To Put Bigger Rims On My 67 Camaro And All I Had Was Problems. I Put 3 Sets Up Springs On The Car From Classic Industries And Every One I Put In The Car Sat The Same The Whole Time. If Your Not Gonna Tweek The Suspension Stay With 15's I Think A Bigger Sidewall Has A More Agressive Look Then A Thin Sidewall... But Thats My Preference.

Ekkk. Chevyboy, sorry you had troubles, perhaps if you asked around here first things would have been different.

There are MANY with 17" wheels here, quite a few with 16"s and some with 18"s. They most certainly can fit. I have 225/50/16's in front, 255/45/17's in back, on a very low 68. And mine are only middle of the road here. I'll be going to 275/40/17's in back as soon as I wear out my current rubber, and with the new motor, that won't be long. One member I know of has 275/45/17 in the FRONT of a 68!

Low profile tires on large diameter rims just flat handle better, and respond better, and give the car a more accurate "feel."

I would stick with the 17's or 18's...not 20's IMO. I run a 18x9 1/2 with 5.75 BS in the back with a 265/40 but you can get a 275 back there with a little trimming. My car is fairly low as well.
