It is pretty ovious this has
been decked but was it a light surfacing with whats left of the original stamp or has it been restamped? By the way the vin is on the block by the oil filter it is hard to read but matches the car. I spoke to the original owner years ago and he said his father in law had rebuilt the motor but I dont remember if he said it was decked or not but clearly it has.

What is your thoughts on these stampings?

sorry for the size of the pics but wanted the best quality I gould get.

I'm not the definite final answer on this, but the stamp looks OK to me. They obviously didn't take much off the deck.

Certainly the stamp is there and it is legible.

Real IMHO.

Interesting- the vin is stamped from the bottom up, my documented original vin stamp goes from the top down and so do all the examples I have in my data base. Not to say that it is not original though.

What is the casting date?

Thanks guys.
I do feel like it is real as I have spoke to both pevios owners and they claim to have never hurt the car. when I first bought it I looked and saw the DZ stamp and it looked real to me I didnt know anything about broach marks back then. Since I have been on TC all these years I have learned much more about what is real and what is not. I guess I jsut wanted eveyone opinon on the stampings.

rszmjt.

I cant remember the casting date but it was something like a week or 2 prior to the V0604DZ.

Thanks again
