I plan on replacing my rear shocks this weekend. Saw a video on You Tube on 67 camaro rear shock replace and it shows the bolt inside the upper part of the trunk. I assume this was a coupe because I cant see them in my convert trunk. Any pointers ie move the back seat etc? Is the convert upper bolt on rear shock in a different place. Thanks for Louisiana (suppose to be in the 70<s this weekend and want to take her for a drive)

On a convert they are in the trunk, lift the well liner up and look down inside the rear seat divider....

You should be able to remove them from below. There is a plate with two bolts that the shock stud mounts to.

Yes, and they come out very easily after they have been there 20 years!
Seriously, try from the bottom first. If it's like mine, air shocks were put in 20 years ago. Left side had a top plate but the right side didn't. I don't know if the top plate is supposed to have welded on nuts but obviously at this point mine didn't. I made a plate for the rigth side and welded nuts to the plates. Otherwise you have to be on top with a wrench on the nut (which is barely accessible) and under the car with the socket on the bolt at the same time.

Thanks for the info. Got to replace both rears this weekend and didnt have to crawl inside the trunk.
