View Full Version : Real Story ??? 98blackburb Feb 8th, 08, 07:32 PM http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Camaro-1969-Baldwin-Motion-Phase-lll-427-Alum-heads-4spd-Resto_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6161QQihZ017QQite mZ270208892121QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW dbx1969 Feb 8th, 08, 08:16 PM I don't know if the story about the Mexican...blah, blah, blah..is true, but it wouldn't matter to me. It's a long story to basically say he's done a great rotisserie on a 69'...that's a clone of a famous, one-off 69'. It's a very nice car, but I think it sounds like an expensive, albeit nice, clone. And I'm sure as heck no expert, but the trim tag appears to me like it may have been removed and put back/changed. Heck, he might have even mentioned this, but I didn't read the whole thing. rich pern Feb 8th, 08, 09:54 PM Nope, this line says it all - "The original car must be worth close to a million, you can own the next best thing for a fraction of the price. you can call John @ 303-669-8994 for a buy now price. " This, as "the next best thing" seems to indicte a clone........ JOE58 Feb 8th, 08, 11:52 PM The story about the Mexican Motion Camaro is true. The real car is well known. I don't know why they put the rally wheels on the real car and on the clone and on the models because it would look a lot better with the Ansen alu slotted mags that Motion put on it in 1969. He also says the rear spoiler is from an Olds. It is not an Olds spoiler. It is a original Motion designed spoiler. I have a NOS one that I bought from Motion. Another part I think he got wrong is ........ "Thats right he drove the Chevelle with the Camaro in tow all the way back to Mexico". That would be crazy. I think he drove the Chevelle with the Camaro in tow down to the ship yard in NY and had them shipped to Mexico. The real Mexican Motion Camaro is probably one of the most valuable Camaros on the planet ccmblack Feb 9th, 08, 12:01 AM 20 mins from me....think I will call to take a gander....interesting I have never seen it at any shows...??? You would think he would want to show a beauty like that off. JOE58 Feb 9th, 08, 07:52 AM here is a picture of the real car from when Otis C owned it and had a book done on his collection in 1990. The car has been around a long time and is a great piece of history. I would love to see it with the right wheels on it Yankit Feb 9th, 08, 11:46 AM Thats an amazing story, amazing car and peice of history! Nice to see if your going to clone/recreate a car someone doing something other than a "Yenko", I'm tired of seeing all those now! There were alot more Super Performance car dealers and builders back in the day than just Don Yenko, I give "mrz28" a hats off for a job well done and for his originality! Chris396 Feb 9th, 08, 12:25 PM I wonder what ever happened to the Chevelle the ordered? |
