632 long stroke tall deck big block.......Art Morrison front sub frame

SBC frame and motor mounts

Oil pan sits on power steering rack.

Options:

1. Notch the oil pan at front in 1inch and up 1inch (not yet measured it to see if it will still allow the mains cap to spin with that big a notch....but is something I will explore

2. Second option is to raise the motor, I'm not sure how I would do this, I assume I would need frame and motor mounts that give me a 1 inch lift....anyone know if such mounts exist ? I don't want to use BBC mounts as they move the motor 1 inch to the right....

Happy to raise the motor even though the trans will hit the tunnel as I can make the tunnel bigger as the interior is getting a full make over anyway

raising the motor will cause some geometry issues and probly end up haveing to replace bearings more often.
notching the pan is the easiest and best bet IMO.

Sounds like you have the wrong pan to me .

Are you using an after market or stock pan?

The big block frame mounts would not work for you anyway as they will
lower the motor even more.

Notching the pan? I dont know..... Think you may be asking for leaks all depending on how much you have to notch it I guess.

There are spacers available that go between the motor and the mounts , If memory serves me correctly they are around 1/4" thick , don't know if that will give you enough or not.

How much more clearence do you need.

get the correct oil pan. I had Canton make one to my measurements on my 540 Arias with the Wayne Due front end and rack. Raising a tall deck is only going to make all the clearance issues they have even worse.

Thanks guys I have the Milodon pan that comes with the World Crate motor I have.....

I'll take some measurements and explore some other pans before I go any further.

Haven't heard too many positives on the Canton pans but worse comes to worse I can get a custom pan made up

I need the pan to sit about 1 inch higher
