I have built a 496 to put in my 72 small block car. I know i need bb motor mounts, all bb alt and p/steering brackets, bb fan shroud. Now what I'm not sure of, the motor has aluminum heads, intake, w/pump, and will have headers. Will i still need to put bb springs in the car? Will the throttle cable for the small block still work? And what else am i missing. The radiator will have to be updated i know, but anything else?

You've pretty much got everything covered. Don't know about the T/C?? Sorry.
Springs, yes.

Difference in weight between an all cast iron SBC and an all cast iron BBC is about 267 pounds. If you reduce the weight of the BBC by using tube style headers, and aluminum heads, water pump and intake manifold; and then buying an aluminum radiator (8 pounds instead of 42) you just about break even. Throw the battery in the trunk and your conversion will be still lighter over the nose than a similar SBC with aluminum manifold with headers.
