67pat Feb 9th, 08, 09:43 PM I havent seen that one, but it looks like a great restore.
pacerx Feb 10th, 08, 12:05 PM Rear spoiler on a '67 is like a mustache on Mona Lisa. Also, is it so hard to paint the door panel buckets??? But, I cant believe it doesnt have a bid yet at only $15k?
Lost in the 60's Feb 10th, 08, 03:54 PM Well, I would be interested in it if I didn't have one already. No bids may reflect a slow economy...:( The seller is also brand new, so no feedback to go by. He also doesn't back up his claim of factory options with a pic of the trim tag or the numbers matching engine block.
Still a very nice looking car, from the pics. I will be the first to say pics don't show the actual condition though.....:noway: If I was seriously interested in it, I would have someone local check it out or bite the bullet for a plane ride. I'm thinking the reserve is in the 22-25k range.

Yep. And it could also be the fact that nearly everyone else writes a thesis when they're looking for sizable bucks, and this guy wrote one or two sentences, which may make some people a bit leery.

Actually a spoiler on any first gen looks great. I know some people get uptight because 67s didnt have spoilers originally...but they still look good. (They also, of course, look good without them as well)
Nice looking car!! However, as Mitch stated, he doesnt show any cowl tag pics or paperwork to back up his claims. I would certainly have to see it in person if it were me.
Assuming it is what it appears to be then its a matching numbers RS/SS with custom interior and Air Conditioning. Very nice!! Column shift and bench seat might keep the value down a bit. Although i think its kind of cool as you dont see it very often. Very surprising it hasnt received an opening bid yet. Its obviously worth more than 15k...quite a bit more in my opinion. A lot of people might be turned off by that interior color as well. If the reserve was in the 22-25k range as mentioned above that certainly isnt out of line in my opinion.

Well said, Craig and politically sensitive too........:D
I was thinking the same thing.
Old Man Feb 11th, 08, 08:02 AM I like it. I've been looking at 67's and while it wouldn't be my first choice I'd look seriously at it, I like the bench seat and the column shift you don't see those every day. That being said I don't think I'd go over $20K unless he's the first owner and has all of the original paperwork with it.

As pictured the car is highly optioned and interesting to me. I personally like the Gold on Gold. My current car was originaly Gold.
I emailed him for more info to verify his claims of numbers matching. I asked for pics of the trim tag, engine pad and info on the rear axle. Also where the restoration was done.
He has 2 69 Camaros on auction and they are quite expensive too. Either he has been in this business for while and just decided to get on eBay, or he layed out a LOT of coin to get started !! The Blue and White convert pro touring is beautiful as well........

I find it hard to believe the market has fallen so much that 20k for a very nicely restored numbers matching RS/SS first gen Camaro is top dollar. Maybe its just me...

I think it's the economy right now. Looks to me like no one wants to spend any money right now so the prices are down.

Well, I got an email reply from him. He doesn't think he will have time to authenticate anything I asked for before the auction ends. 4 days.... and he can't help someone make a decision here. He didn't post the question/ answer to his listing either. Credability with me just dropped a whole bunch.......... At this point, I assume it's not authentic...:(

Ask him if he wants to sell the damn thing or not, apparently not to badly.

That certainly explains a lot. And if his attitude is like that not only would i wonder if hes being dishonest but would kill any thought i had of buying it.

Yup, and that's too bad.......it certainly LOOKS like a nice car and even as a clone is probably worth the price it's at now. He's going to need to do better to get it into the "matching numbers" price range. Guess I'll be keeping my current car. My trim tag verifies it as an SS/RS..:hurray: I just wish it looked as good as this one......:(
thorpe67RS Feb 12th, 08, 02:46 PM I agree. Its a beautiful car based on the pics!
