Wondering if anyone has had experience replacing body mount bushings on a 67. I have some bad bushings, and would like to replace them without taking the front fenders off my car. Is this possible? One post I read said that you could do it one side at a time, but I just don't want to end up bending something.
I have the car suspended on jackstands, but am unsure what to support, and what areas to jack.
Any tips would be much appreciated.
Steve.

You won't have to take off the front fenders or anything. Check in the brake and suspension section of forums. I just did this job. The post is titled Body bushing removal/install. Should be the same for a 67. Yes do one side at a time that way you keep everything in alignment. Put the front of the car on jack stands on the body just behind the front rockers, along the rail. Then you will use the floor jack to help raise and lower the subframe. Read the post started by jwebb. It is pretty easy (the job). I had never done one before you can too. Follow my instructions that I listed in that post. Don't know if you are using rubber or poly bushings? But if you use poly buy the Prothane complete kit with hardware. It has very good instructions and detail on what bushings and washers to use.

Ted,
I'll give that a look, I'm just unclear on how to go about placing the jacks stands.
Seems scary to me to support the body like that. I'm so used to always supporting the car with stands on the frame.

Here's a photo of my 67. I live in South Dakota, so it sits in the garage in the winter. Gives me lots of time to tinker.

Steve, I looked at your pics. If the car is up all away around that's OK. Just move the front ones that I see in the pics back to where I suggested. It will be stable. You will be using the weight of the subframe to help cause seperation between sub and body. When you have the boday on the stands you will then use the floor jack to help you lower and raise the sub. I guess you could have stands under the sub and then try to raise the body. But why not let weight of the sub and engine work for you not against you. Nice car!

I took another snapshot just to be sure. Placement A or placement B?

Just got home and checked where my 69 was jacked up at. I would say A is where mine is at. I figure having the weight of the car more spread out. My jack is right up to the lip by your pisition A with the narrow part of the jack facing forward. For me it seemed to be about the best place for stability and accessability to the body mounts.

Look in the background of this pic, and you can see how I have mine supported right now.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/kcart55/Red%2069/101_1951.jpg

Thanks for the pics! Love your shop floor. That is cool! Car looks great too!
Here is my latest progress....I just removed the old bushings tonight. They were really in bad shape! The jacks worked well from my previously posted photo in position A. I used my floor jack on the main subframe directly under the engine. I removed the 3 bolts from the steering box, and the bolts off of my front bumper where they attach to the subframe up front. I Then removed the 2 support bushing bolts and radiator support bolt. The subframe dropped down nicely.
I ordered a new bushing set from FireWheel, which should arrive on Thursday. So will be putting the new ones in before the end of the week. I hope I can figure out how to put them in correctly. Thanks everyone at Team Camaro for helping me out!

Steve, according to your second to last sentence. I hope you you got a complete kit with hardware from Prothane if your going poly. Someone else entered a post yesterday and can't figure out how they go together. I believe they only bought the bushing kit. And it seems by the posts I've read that those kits must not have instructions on how their parts are to be installed.

Planning to just stay with the rubber bushings on my install. I just want a bit softer ride.
