Read alot about this but didn't see much with pic's for a 1st gen install.
23" core radiator used for this which is a near perfect match for the fan which is about 21.75" wide.

I used 3/16" thick aluminum strips to attach the fan directly to the radiator top and bottom plates. Used some left over door pinch weather strip on the sides to give a better fit and soft contact.

Mounted all my controls right on the fan shroud, Dakota Digital controller and two 75amp bosch relays. Used some factory connectors that I had from scrapped out harnesses to make it easy to remove. This is the pre-97 model fan that is a two speed unit (uses the center blue wire for low speed).
Got alot of finish work to do, painting and taping the harness out...

looks good, those are great fans. Did a small block with similar straps for a friend and used the Be Cool straps on a big block one I did.
