I am about to remove the A/C from my car for the rebuild process. Before I pulled the engine it blew nice cold air. Anyone have advice that I need toocnsider for keeping junk out of the compressor? What about inspecting it or rebuilding it? It is origional and probally has not been maintained since it was built (other than refill R-12).

My rebuild plan is to remove the front clip and blast and repaint the firewall along with the car.
