i have an engine that i need to fined out what it came out of was told its a 327 from a 68 camaro the stamp on the back of the block reads 3932386 at least thats what i think it is i found the number on the front of the block it reads VI113HH and the trans on the driver side is 10c079443 and on the tag on the pas side reads 335 then down lower on the tag its co-69-10594 so could this be a 327 or 350 out of an 69 camaro with an 400 turbo trans or 350 turbo trans?

What is the casting date and the stamp on the front pad? (passenger side of the block in front of where the head would bolt on) Is it 2 bolt main or 4 bolt main? Looks to me like it would have been a 1969 model year block with a 4" bore. This block was used for 302, 327 and 350 cubic inch motors.

Here are the two possibilities for your engine and I'll tell you how to figure out which one it is;

Option #1. 68' - 70' Chevy small block 307
How to tell: Left hand dipstick, gasket type spark plugs

Option #2. 71' - 73' Chevy small block 307
How to tell: Left hand dipstick, tapered seat spark plug

So pop the hood and put these options to the test and see what you got!

Huh? There's no way that's a 307 block.

Russ's info is correct - it's a early 69 4" bore block.

HH code shows as a '69 passenger car 350ci/300hp w/TH400, High Perf.

I'd expect it to be a 4 bolt main, but I have one of those HH blocks and it's a 2 bolt. Go figure....

Is the stamped vin you give off the TH400 the same one thats stamped on the engine pad next to V1113HH?
