Hello,
Opinions wanted on the best price for a Gen IV Vintage Air kit, and whether the Gen IV is that much better than the cheaper cable controlled Vintage air unit
Thanks much

I bought mine from DSE it was a little more expensive than anywhere else but it was easier to install with the bracket the make. The contller and fill piece they have for a 69 is nice looking as well. I don't think its how cheap but how easy to install.

I agree, to a point, what is the bracket for that you talked about?

that bracket is for installing the old Gen 2 units before the Gen IV became available. The gen IV is a larger capacity unit. I just got thinking about it after answering you PM. I do have a customer switching fomr a Gen 2 to a Gen IV, which means I will have a used (hardly used) eveporator set up pretty cheap.

There you go TC is to the rescue again. Frank are the gen II's going to be discontinued and are you familiar with the bracket that DSE makes,it made my job allot easier.

I do not think the gen 2 will discontinue, there is a good market for them in street rods. I am familiar with DSE's bracket and it was a sweet alternative the the PIA cable set ups available until the Gen IVs came out.

Are the gen 2's the surefit? The cables were the least of my frustration with the install...but man I love the cold air...well, not right now.

No, Gen 2 is the universal electronic.
