I am looking for other people's experience of the durability of billet wheels (17/18") on the street.

Are they very easy to damage on pot-holes or other road hazards?

Have you messed up a set, and if so how did you do it?

Specifically I am thinking of going with a set of Wheel Vintiques Billet 18" rallye wheels, but I am concerned that the general road conditions in Los Angeles, CA might cause me some future grief.

Any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

Wow - Can't imagine the roads in LA are worse than NYC. Impossible! I have Budnik wheels and they have held up just fine. They are at least as durable as new car factory alloy wheels. With that being said the bottom line is you can bend any wheel if you're not carefull. Pot holes and severe expansion joints especially at highway speed can take any wheel and tire combo out. Buy what you like and watch where you're going.
