I know this should be easy, but I've pulled, pried, twisted and still can't get my wiper blade arms off the '69. I tried looking underneath to see if there is some kind of tab to depress to release the arm, but I don't see one. Short of destroying the arm, what am I not doing right? Kevin

right where you lift up on wiper look closely down at it from windshield theres a little retainer holding it in place. use a pick or little screwdriver to pull it out of groove and lift off.

If they have'nt been off for a while try spraying with PB or similar. Do this for two or three days and they should come loose.

Place a good layer of rags on the cowl, underneath the screw driver so as not to mark paint work
I use a long wide blade screw driver, carefull twist it to move the wiper arm on the shaft, just enough for the tag to be at the stop point....if it doesnt move do what Nashcar says above.
Then when the tag is hard at the top, a twist of the screwdriver on the opposite side, then twist to press the tag back and lever up at the same time...the movement will be small, then take your time, slowly lever off ech side wiggling up in small movements.

You can get a wiper arm removal tool for about 5.00 that should make short work of it:thumbsup:

Don't even risk it. They will be off in 5 seconds without a scratch if you get the $5 tool.

Where????
Last time I had mine off was 1980, let's see, counting on fingers, WHOA! Twenty eight years. What are the odds of getting them off easily now? And it was never easy. But Joy!:hurray: I was caught in the rain last summer when racing at the strip. The blades and arms were last changed by me in 1973. They're still perfect. Not even a streak on the glass. How'd they do that?

Get the tool - about five bucks, and any decent auto parts store should have it - they're made by K-D and Lisle; it'll pop them off and on in seconds, with no paint damage. Any other method almost guarantees damage.
