My 67 rs has the original 12 bolt posi. The block is from a 66 Chevelle. The heads are original, #775. It looks like the car was a 327/210 hp. I'm wondering about the posi. with a 2bbl. low performane engine? The date on the rear end matches up with the build date.

Sure. Lots of owners purchased posi because of the rain and snow. Especially back east and in the mid west. These were installed in everything from base 6 cylinder cars on up. However, if your car was a 327/210, we need info on the axle please. Can you post your date and code? (Your VIN and Trim Tag info would also be helpful.)

From the CRG:

In 1967, if positraction was ordered, and the combination of positraction and axle ratio resulted in a little-used axle combination, 12-bolt positraction axles were factory installed in vehicles that otherwise would have received a 10-bolt axle. CRG belief is that this was done simply to reduce axle type inventory at the factory. This practice only applies to 1967 Camaro, but included all types, even 6-cylinder models.
