My 69 trim tag reads
ST 69 12437 VN232577 BDY
TR 727 71 71 PNT
1D V027
What does the V027 mean? How do you tell if it is a true Z28.
Thanks for your time

That is the LOS (Los Angeles/Van Nuys) body scheduling code and refers to the approximate day of the month the body assembly was started (letter) and body production number of the day.

LOS cars do not have codes on the tag for performance options. Does the car have an original motor with vin stamp or any paperwork? With LOS cars it is sometimes very hard to determine Z-28 originality without lots of clues or documentation.

I think it's Lionel's train gauge. :)

If the fuel tank has never been dropped, it could have a build sheet on top of it.
