I was wondering how you could tell early dated 69 parts from late dated ones..
My 69 Camaro was produced in December of 1968, so when trying to locate dated parts, how can you tell a manifold built in November of 1968 for a 69 vs. a manifold built in Nov. 1969 for a 69?

Not an answer to your question. You would probably get better response to your question if it were posted in the Tag Team forum. Maybe one of the mods could move it for you.

The date the part is cast is on the part. Various parts have the date code in different locations. Most intake manifolds have the date code near the part number.....format A-L for the month, 1-31 for the day and a single number for year 8=68, 9=69. In your case an intake from a November built motor in a December built car would look like this K278 equating to November 27th 1968. There may be a small space between the month/day/year indicators too. Most intake part numbers changed with enough frequency to eliminate confusion of years ie...1968,1978,1988, etc. Blocks on the other hand carried over for numerous years and it is best to go to www.mortec.com (http://www.mortec.com) to learn how to decipher the "clock" date coding on them....;) Hope this helps......

would be for a late 1969????
