A friend has,what seems to be,an unusual big block. It has 4 bolt mains and the big hole by the oil filter. The date code is F148 (June 68?) and the block casting number is 3935439. Is this a marine motor, a corvette or big chev hi horse motor? thanks in advance for help.

1968 or 1969 427/425, 430 or 435 HP, depending on the engine code stamping on the passengers side of the pad. Check the code and we can narrow it down to either the big car or the Vette.
