I was wondering if red interior paint ( dash glove box door steering column etc.)is the same as exterior red on a 68 camaro. Thanks for any help you can give.

Let me first respond by saying "I AM NOT AN EXPERT". Having said that, exterior paint can be used for interior paint but you'll need a flatening agent to make it look correct.
When I paint the engine compartment, I use an 80-20 mix (80% chassis black, 20%flattening agent). The flattening agent looks like fine ground mud and has about the same consistency. Crank your regulator to about 50 psi to apply.
My guess is your interior is applied the same way. You may want to take a small amount of paint and experiment with different mixtures of flattening to paint ratios, spray a piece of scrap, let dry and see if it matches.
An easy way to do this is to measure out equal amounts of paint and agent into different graduaded mixing cans. Using a third can and make you first batch, say 80:20. If it's too flat, add a little paint, too glossy, add agent. When you get it right, write down the about that remains in the cans, subtract it from where you started and BINGO, the correct ratio.
Hope this helps,
Roy
