I have just retired from the Army after 27 years and looking to start a new hobby. I'm looking to buy a 68 but I'm a little confused with the cowl tag. What is the production number? What is the trim? Your site shows trim 713 as a 69 trim color?
09A = First week of Sep
ST 68 - 12437 = 68 Camero, V8, Coupe
NOR 5628 = Norwood plant, ???? very low number?
TR 713 = ?????
Paint VV = Sequoia Green Met
As I'm new to this any help would be great.
Thanks. Vern

For a '68, 713 = Black, standard bench seat.
p.s. I'm retired Coast Guard, 21 years

Welcome to TC! You will find lots and lots of information and great people in here. First I'd say take a look at the top left of this page and click on Index. Then 1968 and you will find a list of codes there that will help. Also please check out www.camaros.org
That is one of the very best sources of information concerning first gen Camaro's. As for my opinion...I love the 68's! Kevin

Thanks guys. Can anyone tell me about the production number, NOR 5628? And how do you tell if it is buckets or bench?

Are there any numbers between the NOR and the 5628?
It should be a black standard bench (TR 713). What's in there now?

No numbers between just NOR 5628. It is a bench car. I found the info I needed to understand the trim code.
