Rim size has alot to do with it and you need to go to one of the tire size calculator sites because its not that simple. I have a 235/60/15 on stock ralleys and thats about as big as I can go.But each number is related as a function of width to sidewall height to overall height. So I might have been able to go with a 225/65/15 and had the same height but less width but a higher sidewall...just as an example I didnt calculate this.

I have 285/40-17 on the rear of mine and have 1/2 inch clearance on the inside and had to trim some of the lip on the outside. You can also roll the lip on the outside instead. They are mounted on 17x9.5 Boyd wheels with 5.5 inch backspacing.

For the front I went with 17x8 wheels with 5 inch bs and 235/45 tires.

Well, since asspect ratio changes with rim size overall height, lets say a 245 front close to 25.5" to 26" tall and a 275 rear up to 27" tall.
