I am looking at this 1998 Camaro Z28 5.7L V8 3.73 gears, automatic with police interceptor chip, new water, gas, and oil pumps for $5500. The only question I have is that it has 165,000 miles and use to be a State Trooper vehicle. I am a cop myself and know the punishment that we put through our cars. Would you tell the owner $4500 cash no exeption. Would appreciate your feedback. I just don't want this car to give out on me a year down the road and pay alot to get it fixed with stuff I need and not with stuff I WANT. Thanks.

Sounds like too good of a deal to me. Have you test driven it yet?

No I have not test driven it yet. I am thinking of taking it to a certified machanic and dyno it before buying. Do you think $5500 is a good price even though it was a police vehicle with 165,000 miles?

They also get maintained (at least I assume so :) ) What is blue book?
A lot of guys look for B4C (I thin that is the cop car RPO) cars. I didn't know they got special tunes (no 'chips' in those - ECM gets reflashed).

Yeah it has the B4C police package. It comes with the B4C chip and various other parts like reinforced sway bars etc. The kbb for that car is $4550. I understand that cops maintain thier cars but they also abuse them when they are on the road.
