Hello,

I just purchased a new original-looking radio for my 69 vert. Its an AM/FM that is supposed to look original, although i can already see some slight differences in the display pannel ( no white dashes between the radio stations.....but i don't care that much ). It is from http://www.radiosforoldcars.com/

The interior of my car is original stock and i intend to keep it that way but i was wondering if there was a way to beef up the stereo, to a degree, without changing the looks. I am not looking to win any Miami bass contests, or drive through neighborhoods with music so loud i can see through my rearview mirror. I want to get a nice center dash speaker replacement. I don't want to add door panel speaker or rear speakers to this car.

Has anyone ever added a small subwoofer uder the dash ? It seems plausible that a subwoofer could go somewhere under the dash ( near the heating ducts or something ) as a complement to a single center dash speaker system.

The motor is a zz4 with a decent exhaust rumble which i would look to tune out ( on occasion ).

The radio should have plenty of power to drive just about anything
( 4 X 45 watts RMS ).

Thanks for your help
