Hey all, I have a new in the box harbor Freight combination Oiler / air filter unit and my question is , can I use this unit just for cleaning moisture and dirt out of the air and not for oiling my air tools ( Not putting oil in the oil unit)? And will it do the propour job?

It does ok. I put a “T” after the water separator and pressure gauge, right before the oil lubricator and put an attachment fitting there so I can run air without oil, and I put one after the oil lubricator. I use separate air hoses so one is oil free. There are times; when it’s really hot out side, I’ll get water coming out of my air tools. I’m about to get the moister separator. My 2 cents… graemlins/waving.gif

Johnny Boy, did you actually get a unit that has desiccant (little white bead-like particles) in it? That is what removes moisture... a foam (or whatever) filter won't remove moisture.

The filter has a small regular paper filter not the beads.

If you want to get water out of air, then you need to use a desiccant air dryer.
