anyone have any strong recommendations or preferences of which brand of lift (7000 lb capacity +/-) that I should buy for my garage?

I have 9' ceilings and need it strictly for service.

Thanks in advance!

I have a Double Park and I love it. They will powdercoat it any color and also make it a custom length if needed. Mine is standard length. I wish I would have ordered it a little longer.
I use mine for oil changes on my pick up truck as well as storing and restoring my 1969 Camaro. When I change oil on my truck it is just BARELY long enough to fit the truck on there.

I bought mine at Chevy/Vettefest in Chicago back in 2001. I ordered a custom color and they delivered and installed it in about 3 weeks.
I liked the Double Park because it is very heavy duty and built really nice compared to others I have seen. It cost a little more but I felt it was worth it.

How high is your ceiling from the floor?

It is 10'. I can't raise the lift all the way up but at least it will go high enough for storage. :)

If you want it for service only you may want to consider a two post lift. Or a scissor lift. If you utilize the search icon and search 2 post, 4 post, etc. you can read a wealth of information. If you go to the CorvetteForum and do the same there are loads of pictures there as well. All forums have had this question asked and asked again. It be a popular one for sure. Hope it turns out well for you. Realize the 9' ceiling can be a limiting factor on options.
Good luck, :beers:
Here's my two post-

IMO you can do everything plus more on a 4 post that you can do on a 2 post, also a 4 post does not need to be anchored to floor and you can move it with casters.

2 post needs to be anchored and concrete needs to be a certain thickness

Chick, I think you may need a bigger lift for that cart.:p Either that or some bigger tires and then you won't need a lift.

Whatever brand of 4-post you decide on, spend the money for the optional aluminum ramps; the standard steel ramps are a bear to manhandle around.

Good points Beechfront. Yes, a two post is bolted but a 4 post takes up more space/room, and if storage is not a reason for owning, then a two post has many advantages. Nothing wrong with either as they both are great and depends on personal needs and/or wants.

I have a Danmar 4 post it was 1600.00 and the ramps, drip pans and oil drain container came free...I paid an extra 150.00 for the caster kit and it has been a life changing experience

I have an Eagle SS7000XLT (I think). I have a 10' 4" ceiling. It is not high enough to be able to walk under the Sierra or the Envoy during oil changes. 9' ceiling will be a problem.

2 post and 4 post each have their place. 4 post just works best for what I need. Now, I just need to add another bay with taller ceiling and get a 2 post lift..............
