Will a 18x8.5 wheel with a 4.75 b/s fit the front of a 69 that has 2" lowered hotchkiss springs

I have always heard 18x8 max without running into problems with rubbing.

People have gotten a 8.5 to work on a lowered car using a 5 to a 5.25 backspace and a 245/40-18 tire. The extra 1/2" wheel width seems to be less of a problem than going with a bigger tire (255/40) but you need to at least split the extra width to the inside and the outside (a little more to the inside is always better because if you need to bring the wheel out a little you can use a spacer but there is nothing you can do but rehoop the wheel to go the other way and that's expensive). If you stay with the 4.75 backspace you will be moving the tire a 1/2" closer to the wheel lip and I don't think you want to do that.

I have an 18x8.5 with a 5.2" BS. I also have tubular speetech CAs and ATS spindles. Less BS on the wheel and I think it would stick out too far.
