What would be a good clutch combo, for the money, in a 69 Nova SS 350 M21? Just going to be a moderate street rod, so maybe something a little better than stock. Are the clutches kits that the national part suppliers have any good? Looks like I can get a 11" clutch, pressure plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool for about $115. I've read here about a few using RhinoPac and Zoom. Thoughts?

I've been using this Centerforce Dual Friction in my 460ci: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=CTF%2DDF735552&N=700+400420+4294865886+4294908216+115&autoview=sku

I've had a number of different clutches. This one has good grab with moderate pedal pressure. Diaphragm style seems to be easier for pedal pressure. My car is street only, maybe making 500hp.

Zoom has been around for years. Father in law swears by them. They are good for and cheap for mild performance builds.

There are so many clutch companies out there and everyone has their favorite. Whatever brand you choose, just make sure it is a NEW clutch and pressure plate. Usually problems and issues arise from the rebuilt units from your local automotive chain stores.

Just did a swap about 6 months ago using the Center DF, so far so good and superior grip compared to the Mcleod Borg Beck. diaphragm is the way to go.

performance international was cheaper than summitt!

Ditto JimM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summit's Perfection/ZOOM stock replacement kit is about as good as it get's until you NEED better than stock, imho!!

I put the 11", 10 spline, kit behind my 496.

And the price is right!

I put an 11 inch Zoom MU5505-1 (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ZZZ-MU5505-1&N=700+400409+316824+4294787402+4294908216+115&autoview=sku) in my ’67 and love it. Over the years I have had several clutches in it and this one is the best so far. The pedal pressure is light and it is super smooth.

When I asked a Zoom representative what the difference was between their 30006 and MU5505-1 clutches he told me the only difference was the price and the purple paint on the pressure plate!
